Course Application
The Morriston Head and Neck Ultrasound Ultrasound Workshop has been running successfully since 1996. The original concept was that
of a practical hands on teaching workshop, the original faculty are the authors of
the textbook: Practical Head and Neck Ultrasound (Cambridge
University Press).
Delegates on the course will receive a complimentary copy of the textbook upon arrival.
The course is held in the Marriott Hotel, Swansea, where we have a large conference room
allowing us to set up workshops and scanning sessions in a comfortable controlled environment.
The workshop will allow delegates to scan models, following live demonstrations of the relevant
anatomy. The examination is then divided up into a series of sweeps, each sweep been demonstrated is
followed by a practical session of live scanning with tuition. The second day's workshop is primarily
designed to teach biopsy techniques (on phantoms) with the opportunity to gain experience in some of
the more complex anatomy of the neck. We also have revision of anatomy scanning and discussion with an MDT panel.
The number of delegates is restricted, this enables us to plan for small teaching groups in the
workshops allowing all delegates adequate scanning time. The workshop groups will be allocated
according to experience and profession e.g. Surgeons will be grouped together. If numbers warrant –
practitioners who are inexperienced in Ultrasound will have a specific workshop in “How to drive a Ultrasound machine optimally”.
Course Fee
The fee includes full access for the two day workshop and a copy of the Ultrasound textbook:
Practical Head and Neck Ultrasound.
The fee also includes all meals and beverages during the workshop and a course dinner on the first evening of the course.
This allows the delegates to get to know the faculty and other delegates attending the course, the wine is complimentary!.
The dinner is always an excellent evening, an initial informal drinks reception is followed by dinner where there is the
opportunity for delegates to mix and sample traditional Welsh cuisine.
Delegates are asked to submit a completed application form together with the appropriate fee, a cheque made payable to
"Morr H&N", in order to secure a place on the course. We can also provide bank details if you wish to pay by bank transfer.
Please note that as numbers are limited and the course fills quickly places can only be held once an application form along
with an accompanying cheque/proof of payment has been received. Please contact the course coordinator for an application form.
A waiting list is coordinated by the course coordinator, contact details below.
